Software-Entwicklung 27 (PSE)

  • type: lecture
  • semester: SS 2011
  • sws: 4
  • lv-no.: 24515

Kurzpräsentationen der einzelnen Themen: 12.04.2011, 14:00 Uhr, Raum R-134 im AVG (Gebäude 50.41)

Praxis of Software Engineering

Detection of a sensor-knot via smart-phone camera
Visualisation of an virtual object on a smart-phone's display by Augmented Reality
Energy-Management-System »Plugwise«

Chair:

ITM Beigl
Title:  Mobile Augmented Reality for visualization of the daily energy consumption
Responsible Persons:  Yong Ding und Takashi Miyaki (für 2 Teams)

 Description of the issue

These days Augmented Reality-Applications, which display virtual information for real objects, are prevalent and also realizable with mobile devices.
Target of this PSE exercise is to develop an application for smartphones which detects sensor-knots by their cameras, request their seonsor-values and visualize them via Augmented Reality. Sensor networks are made up of small standalone systems consisting of a CPU and a radio system. The wireless sensor-knots of our own are gathering data of the energy consuption of each electrical device in the insitute nearly in real-time. By the application, which has to be created, the awareness of energy consumption can be increased.
This practical Course gives you the possibility to learn basic skills in the fields of mobility programming, computer vision, network programming and the visualization of data.

Tasks

  • Localization of sensor-knots
    •  Marker-based Localization (Computer Vision)
    • Sensor-based Localization
  • HTTP-based data queries (network programming)
  • Visualization

Technics

  • Software development on the Google Android Platform
  • Language: Java (Option C++)
  • Environment: in preference Eclipse IDE

For the development work a Google Android Smartphone is provided.
