Chair for Pervasive Computing Systems
The new Chair for Pervasive Computing Systems (PCS), which was created in 2010, deals with the development and integration of modern information and communication technologies in the physical environment. The group is led by Prof. Michael Beigl, who holds the Shared New Field Professorship at KIT and SAP. Research and teaching focus is on the areas of wireless sensor networks, context and activity recognition on mobile devices, and human-machine interaction (HCI). The industry-related research group TECO is affiliated with the chair and has been researching pervasive computing since 1994.
